objective: The objective of the research was the creation of paths of knowledge of the built environment, which, starting from the data acquired in the survey campaigns and from the perusal of the documentary heritage, recently acquired, present at the CID - Information and Documentation Center, a museum, exhibition and cultural center, Municipality of Torviscosa, would allow the guided fruition of emergencies and widespread building.

results: The research activity, given the importance of the settlement and the need for detailed knowledge for its enhancement, has led, through the study of documentation related to the buildings of the town and agricultural areas - with reference to building types, materials and construction techniques - to the preparation of tools for reading the existing, related to the phases of design, construction and transformation.
At the same time, direct contacts were activated and developed with local and national realities committed to the theme of knowledge, recovery and enhancement of the industrial heritage, aimed at activities of comparison and possible collaboration.
Finally, the research has allowed the introduction of new ways of cultural fruition of the site, in parallel with the consolidation of those already in place, addressed to a wide range of users, both in terms of origin and connotative characteristics.
All this took the form of the editing of several scientific publications, the development of thematic maps and the preparation and staging of the exhibition The Houses of Torviscosa. Company-town of the 20th century, with related catalogue.

objective: The objective of the research was to study the theme of architectures and constructions serving the city-factory and its territory, in a path of knowledge aimed at the enhancement of buildings for the community (cinema-theatre, CID-Information and Documentation Center, ...) and of service to the reclamation and energy production (water-scoopers, power plants, ...).

results: The research activity saw the initial review of sources and documentation on the territory of the Torviscosa city-factory through the analysis, integration and reorganization of the bibliography and verification of the consistency of the documentation of the SNIA Viscosa Historical Archives (partly digitized) and the Municipal Historical Archives, documentation, only marginally known. A substantial source of knowledge and documentation on land reclamation works was identified in the Historical Archives of the Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura Friulana.
Then, the research activity involved the perusal of undigitized archival material from the Historical Archive of the Municipal Technical Office, the CID Technical Library, and the Historical Archive of the Pianura Friulana Land Reclamation Consortium. In particular, at the Technical Office, historical building files (1940-1970) referring to buildings in the city-factory and its territory were consulted, as well as those relating to more recent interventions on public buildings (Theater, Schools, CID, City Hall), and at the Reclamation Consortium, the in-depth historical documentation (1910-1960) relating to reclamation works in the basins of interest and the construction of water-supply plants was consulted. To complete the knowledge framework, the numerous dissertations (1990-2013) kept partly at the CID and partly at the Municipal Library were consulted.
In addition, the activity involved numerous surveys and photographic surveys in the Torviscosa area, aimed at collecting documentation on the built area, infrastructure and production service buildings.
This resulted in the drafting of several scientific publications, the development of thematic maps and the preparation of the exhibition Water and energy. Service buildings for the company-town.
